The Netley Campus includes new school facilities for the existing Nursery, Netley School, Pupil Referral Unit and Adult Community Learning Centre.
The new school buildings opened in September 2014.
Netley campus currently provides a home for multiple educational uses, including a mainstream Victorian primary school with a separate 1970s Foundation Unit, an ASD unit, a Community Learning Centre, and a Primary Pupil Referral Unit. The piecemeal development of the site had resulted in a disorienting layout, and some of the buildings were no longer fit for purpose.
The new development created a new building at the front of the site which will house the Foundation Unit and the ancillary educational uses, as well as retaining the original Victorian building, which continues to house the junior school. The new building will provide a single reception area for the whole campus which will run directly through the building to the playground beyond and provides access to the refurbished Victorian school building. The school halls will be located on the first floor of the new building and will be accessed via the main lobby – making it easy for the local community to use these spaces outside school hours.
As an authorised supplier to London Borough Camden Schools, acorro were selected to provide the telephone communications across the entire campus. Acorro recommended a hosted telephone solution to utilise the excellent LGFLinternet connection. This would mean both the voice and data would be easily managed by the schools IT staff. Hosted telephones meant no equipment was required on the site apart from the telephone handset itself. Communications throughout the campus is seamless, which is critical to all school departments and childrens services
