Softcat
chooses Acorro for communicating
Acorro has cemented its long standing relationship
with Softcat being chosen as the sole communications
partner. Since inception in 1993, Softcat ethos
has been to deliver enterprise class systems, service
and support specifically developed for the SME market
sector, this is now proven over 12 years and trusted
by over 4500 regular customers.
Working closely with Softcat’s customers Acorro will deliver its award winning portfolio of Telecoms, Cabling and Communication solutions.
“ Softcat often works with partners to deliver first class service to our customers. It is vital that the partner offers the same quality of service that our customers know and expect from Softcat. Acorro is one of those partners and I would not hesitate in recommending Acorro to any of our 4,500 plus customers”
Doug Fawell, Operations Director, Softcat Ltd
Rowan
International secures its Network with Acorro
When the new IT manager recently took charge at
Rowan International he instigated a thorough audit of
the existing IT and Voice Communications Infrastructure.
Acorro were invited to make recommendations for taking
the organisation forward. These included implementing
a data security firewall to prevent unauthorised access
to the network and also new anti-virus suite for infection
protection.
Aside from the security benefits of the new firewall it was now very easy for senior staff to access the network remotely via a secure VPN to work and of course pick up there emails from anywhere.
In addition Acorro recommended a consolidated backup strategy for both the Windows and SQL environments.
“Once again, Ele Nicolaou has stepped up and saved the day.
I have been working with Ele for over 15 years now, and can recommend him and his team for their professionalism, workmanship and support. I know that I can rely on them to provide a service, at a competitive price, within a time frame, professionally and accurately.Acorro are my first point of call, whether it is network or telecommunications related, or even if just to talk to someone to bounce ideas off.I have changed companies a lot in the past 15 years, and I have always called on Acorro as my first choice for preferred supplier
I cannot recommend them enough"

A
Cabling Success at Durston UK
Another successful infrastructure installation was
completed recently by the Acorro cabling team. Durston
UK were relocating to a new site facility in Biggleswade
Herts. The new site comprises office and warehouse
facilities and will form an integral part of the Durston
UK expansion plans.
There was
an existing IT room which required a complete rewire.
Acorro were tasked with overhauling the existing IT
room and create a secondary server room. This included
replacing the existing cabinet and patch panels. By
doing this the existing 200 points could be re-labelled
and cable managed properly. Around 150 New points could
then added to both the ware house areas and offices.
This enabled
the Durston IT team to have control and management of
the structured cabling system with a new plan and location
for each point. In future any additions or changes could
be carried out quickly and efficiently.
“I
am extremely pleased with the job which was done very
professionally and presented to a very high standard.
The
team on site were industrious, obliging (even when I
managed to throw in the odd curved ball), and left the
site clean and tidy. (Even Robert (MD) commented on
their approach to the job.)”
Matt Ryan IT Manager Durston (UK)
London
Councils values Acorro support.
Critical
applications within local government demand the best
service levels agreements. The London Councils
is no exception to this, that’s why it has enlisted
the experience and support of Acorro. London Councils
has implemented a switched network based on a Cisco
fibre backbone with a number of edge switches connecting
around 250 users over 5 floors. Acorro provides
a critical switch replacement with engineers onsite.
London Councils
was formerly known as the Association of London Government.
Our new name, effective from 1 October 2006, was chosen
to reflect more accurately our membership.
We are committed
to fighting for more resources for London and getting
the best possible deal for London’s 33 councils.
We develop policy, lobby government and others, and
run a range of services designed to make life better
for Londoners
The London
Councils plays a unique role in London governance. Part-think
tank and part lobbying organisation, our policy work
is supported by our strong track record in delivering
excellent services on behalf of the boroughs, all of
which are designed to make life better for Londoners.
We work with
more than 400 voluntary groups across London, providing
them with £28 million of funding every year on
behalf of London’s councils. Our grants, which
range from £5,000 to £500,000 are awarded
to a wide range of projects which all seek to tackle
disadvantage and promote social inclusion, as well as
improving the lives of people who live, work and visit
London.
“Our IT systems are
crucial to keeping our customers happy. With the assistance
of Acorro we have embraced the convergence of voice
and data to ensure we maximize our investment in IT.
I have worked
with Ele Nicolaou for the past decade and I would
have no hesitation in recommending his services”

grants worth
several
millions of pounds.
Challenge:
The
charity relies on ICT to help manage campaigns, donations,
