Business Plan FAQ
1. By signing this am I leaving BT ?
No you are not leaving your BT relationship; your end contract
will be between the customer and BT. BT offer both direct
and indirect routes to market. By taking the indirect route
to market you will be going through a BT value added reseller
such as Acorro who BT carefully selects to offer its portfolio
of products to end customers. By going through a value added
distributor you will receive exactly the same prices for your
end products, however by taking this route you are keeping
a single point of contact hence providing a higher level of
service and avoiding any confusion or crossed wires by dealing
with such a large organisation directly. A value added reseller
will also often have had had long-term relationships with
your company and will often have a greater knowledge on your
companies individual needs, thus can provide a more suitable
bespoke solution to your company needs than by going through
BT directly.
2. What is acorro relationship with BT
Acorro is an accredited Value added reseller for BT indirect
channels. This means that Acorro and its staff have undertaken
the relevant training and have been granted authorization
by BT to provide its full portfolio of products to end customers.
Acorro is able and qualified to provide a full range of BT
ICT, Core Voice and Broadband Solutions and have the full
support of and backing from BT.
3. Who do I contact for any problems?
Your end contract is between yourselves and BT. If problems
should occur you will have full support from BT and will be
able to contact their help lines directly. You also will have
your Value added reseller who will have the knowledge/experience
to identify the problem and point you to the right person
in BT who can rectify it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Remember by going through a VAR you have a single point of
contact who will possess knowledge of you business and of
the products he has provided for you.
4. Who manages our account with BT
Your call tariffs will be monitored quarterly by your VAR,
they will carry out checks to make certain you remain on the
most suitable tariffs for your individual business. They do
this by using monitoring statements of your call profiles
whilst keeping an eye on your call spend trends. For higher
level accounts a desk based BT account manager is also available.
5. Do I lose any of my current benefits such as BT Business
analyst or Network Monitoring or Account management
No your value added reseller will offer everything that you
have come to expect from BT. On the plus side however due
to his greater knowledge of your business he can often provide
a more fitting solution and greater savings than if you went
directly to BT. Remember the end contracts are still
between yourselves and BT so your VAD will be able to provide
everything that you would get by going direct plus an extra
level of company knowledge and a single point of contact for
all your concerns/enquiries.
6. What does my Commitment figure mean
BT offer several different levels of business plan that companies
can sign to with a nominal spend. However BT recognize that
not all call spends will fall into or around these set figures.
Therefore in order to maximise the 5% annual reward offerings
that BT offers it allows its customers it allows them to enter
a committed spend figure. A company have spend £20,000
on their call spend for the last 3 years. They are in between
the business plan amounts of 5k and 30k. BT will allow them
to sign to a 5k which is the only figure they will have to
make to avoid incurring charges, they can also pledge a £20,000
committed spend and when it comes to the annual 5% reward
which business plan offers they will receive this back on
not only the 5k but for the full £20,000!! even though
if they fail to make the £20,000 they will never be
held to it. It# s basically a bonus BT provide for customers
to be able to maximise their rewards with no risk of reconciliation
charges.
7. What does the evaluation tell me
An evaluation is conducted by BT and provides a thorough look
into a customers call profile. It takes into account the duration
of all calls and if the customer could benefit from any caps
including international and mobile as well as local and national.
It also looks at the latest tariffs and special offer rates
to see if your company would benefit from them.
8. How do I qualify for further discounts?
You can request an evaluation at any point to see if the latest
BT rates and special offers will benefit your business and
save you money on your call spends. There is no charge for
an evaluation and no specific qualifying procedure. BT want
to make sure you are on the best possible tariff and are extremely
satisfied with the service you receive.
9. What are the main benefits of signing a Business plan
There are several benefits including the fact that BT offer
# totalcare# which is there guarantee that in the event a
customers lines going down BT will fix them with in four hours
or will offer compensation to the customer as well as routing
all you calls to a BT manned call centre or automated answering
service free of charge!. This offers great peace of mind to
the customer and is renowned as the best with in the industry.
This is why 90% of FTSE 100 companies choose BT. Also BT offers
network call performance as standard with its customer based
plans which allows companies to conduct and see thorough analysis
of their call patterns i.e. how long it takes for them to
answer a call, percentage of calls missed due to engaged tone,
number of calls received at different points of the day Network
call performance is a really useful tool for businesses to
assess there call performance and see if their current lines
are meeting the demand of incoming calls. *BT are also currently
offering free ISDN2/30 connections when signing to business
plan!*
10. Can it help reduce my mobile bills
Yes, business plan offers mobile capping at 25p for up to
an hour! Therefore a mobile call will never cost you more
that 25p! This offers your business security and means you
can chat away with out worry of incurring expensive mobile
charges! See my example below:
Mobile Calling
The pence per minute to Mobile Phones is 9.8p to any network. There
is a call cap of 25p per hour. Again there is a set up fee
of 1p but again it is included in the cap. Therefore an hour
long call to any mobile phone will never cost you more than
25p.
An example of the mobile cap:
1p set up fee + minute 1 (9.8p) = 10.8 + minute 2 (9.8p) =
20.6 + minute 3 (9.8p) = 25p Cap hit you can chat on the phone
for up to an hour with the cost never rising above 25p total!!
- The cap is hit after two and a half minutes.
11. What about International Calls
The same applies for international call capping! A call to
the US will cost you 10p for up to an hour with Europe and
the Pacific Rim at 20p for up to an hour! Rates like these
can dramatically reduce costs for companies with suppliers
abroad.
International Calling.
Calling the USA has never been cheaper and BT have a 10p cap
for calls of up to an hour with a pence per minute rate of
just 2.8ppm. Therefore a 60 minute call to the states will
set you back 10p!
For the European Union the capped rate is 20p with a 4.8p
per minute rate until you hit the cap. Therefore an hour on
the phone to Rome will set you back 20p!
For calls to Asia and the Pacific Rim there is a 20p cap and
a 6.8p per minute charge. 60 mins on the phone to Bangkok
for 20p!
12. Can I reduce my line rentals

line credit and I have listed the details of it below.
